Shift happens
On my most recent episode of Chitchat with Aliecat, I had a discussion with Keef Brown about how we approach changes in our lives. We talked about changes that are planned, unplanned, and the impact. Something that came up for me is my fear or change and love for beginnings.
I’m someone who fell into self-care out of necessity, not because of the trendy wellness industry. I thought burnout was a lifestyle. I believed that you had to be “productive” to be valued. My wellness practices were reactive. I overworked, overcommitted, and barely slept. Now my rest has very little to do with productivity and everything to do with wellness. Mental, physical, spiritual and emotional wellness. I understand how deeply everything is connected. I have felt stress manifest in my lower back and shoulders. After enough of tensions in my chest and stomach from anxiety, I knew it was time for some new habits. A journey of self compassion and getting back up when I fall.
